1958
Invention of the transparent, flexible PVC-tracheostomy tube TRACOE comfort by Rudolf Köhler, Prof. Biesalski and Prof. Waldeck.
1972
After Rudolf Köhler's death, his son Dr Wolfgang Köhler and Hildegard Waldeck found the "TRACOE Gesellschaft für medizinische Bedarfsgegenstände mbh". Wolfgang Köhler sets up TRACOE's first office in his private flat in Karben.
1990
After the sudden death of Wolfgang Köhler, his son Stephan Köhler joins the management as the third generation. At the same time, the company's headquarters are moved from Karben to Frankfurt am Main.
1993
The first products of the TRACOE care group are added to the growing range.
1996
Market launch of the polyurethanetracheostomy tube TRACOE twist developed by Prof. Waldeck.
1998
Introduction of TRACOE stoma button and grid button.
First precision device for intensive care: TRACOE cuff pressure control.
1999
Move into the new production facilities with clean rooms in Nieder-Olm near Mainz.
2002
Expansion of the TRACOE care range with a large number of new products.
Re-establishment of the TRACOE product group larynx with the most important products for laryngectomised patients.
2003
Introduction of the products TRACOE vario, the soft tracheostomy tubes with the variably adjustable neck flange.
Introduction of the products TRACOE mini, tracheostomy tubes for neonates and children.
2004
Establishment of our own sales force in Germany.
2005
The hand-held manometer TRACOE cuff pressure monitor is introduced.
2008
The TRACOE percutaneous product group is expanded by the TRACOE experc Set vario with the new, innovative insertion system.
2009
Construction and commissioning of the new 3,000 sqm production facility in Nieder-Olm.
2010
Introduction of the TRACOE silicone short cannulae and the TRACOE button plus.
2011
Introduction of the TRACOE twist plus.
At the same time, the product group modular is launched.
2012
Construction of the new administration building with 1,200 sqm in Nieder-Olm.
2013
Prof. Dr. med. Franz Waldeck, co-founder and partner of TRACOE medical, dies after a serious illness.
The new administration building in Nieder-Olm is completed and occupied. The Frankfurt location is dissolved and TRACOE medical is now united at one site. Inauguration of the new administration building.
The TRACOE smart Cuffmanager is added to the product portfolio of the TRACOE technic product group.
2014
The product group comfort is extended by the new product line comfort plus with 3 types of cannulae.
2015
Dr Thomas Jurisch joins the Executive Board.
2016
KAPITEX Healthcare Ltd. from Great Britain becomes new sister company of TRACOE medical GmbH
2017
Introduction of the new product group TRACOE select with selected medical products from external production such as the TRACOE pleural drainage set according to the Seldinger technique, the TRACOE aeris balloon dilatation catheter, as well as products from Parker Medical and Mercury Medical for the German market.
2018
TRACOE opens its first representative office in Manama, Bahrain.
Foundation of the subsidiary TRACOE medical GmbH in Salzburg, Austria.
Expansion of the storage area to 3,300 sqm through the opening of our own new logistics centre in Nieder-Olm.
Expansion of the product group TRACOE kids with a new product line TRACOE silcosoft from our own production, consisting of tracheostomy tubes made of silicone for neonates, infants and children.
2019
TRACOE celebrates 60th anniversary and 20 years of Nieder-Olm site loyalty
2020
As one of the first companies TRACOE medical passes the MDR certification audit
The subglottic tracheostomy tubes of the product line twist plus are optimised. The subglottic tracheostomy tubes of the product groups twist and vario are approved for the ACV method.
Overall Sales Manager Rimm Elfu is appointed to the Executive Board.
2021
Upgrading of a new building for the production of silicone products in Nieder-Olm. All TRACOE divisions are now located in the direct vicinity of each other.
Rimm Elfu becomes managing director.
Change of ownership - TRACOE medical has been part of the Swedish Atos Medical Group since autumn 2021.
